National AIDS Control Program phase III (NACP III) is focused
on saturating the coverage of core and bridge population
through targeted intervention (TI) program. To standardize
systems and procedures operational guidelines have been
developed on all categories of Targeted Intervention proposals
namely men having sex with men (MSM), Female sex workers (FSW),
Injecting Drug Users (IDU), Migrants and Truckers.
In order to ensure quality, capacity building of implementing
agencies is required. Therefore, in order to focus on
providing uniform, quality training to different categories of
staffs work in with NGOs/CBOs viz. Program Manager, Counselor,
Finance Accountants, Outreach Worker, Peer Educators and link
workers.
The National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) has decided to
institutionalize the training and capacity building with the
Gandhigram Institute of Rural Health and Family Welfare Trust
(GIRH & FWT) as a State Training and Resource Center (STRC)
for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. |
